Skateboards, hoverboards, skates, and rollerblades are rather useless in traffic on the cobblestone streets of Prague's city center (however you can rent them and they're lots of fun, but usually are used only in the parks).
Prague has many skateboarding parks!
A skatepark is a recreational park made for skateboarding, BMX, scooter, wheelchair, and aggressive inline skating. A skatepark may contain half-pipes, quarter pipes, spine transfers, handrails, funboxes, vert ramps, pyramids, banked ramps, full pipes, pools, bowls, snake runs, stairsets, and any number of other objects.
On Štvanice island is a roofed skatepark, so it is the only institution, which allows to skateboarding in Prague throughout the whole year. There is also a public swimming pool which in the 1990s had a nudistic resort, which is also interesting for being set up almost directly in the center of Prague, near is a hydro power plant and an adjustable water slalom track. Over the island leads Hlávkův bridge and Negrelliho viaduct.
